Obama Brags About His 12.8 Million Twitter Followers at Fundraiser [VIDEO]

Barack Obama says he has more Twitter swagger than actor and comedian Aziz Ansari.

That’s right. Obama is using his more than 12.8 million Twitter followers as bragging rights.

While speaking at a fundraiser event, the president said his 13-year-old daughter, Malia Obama, is a huge Parks and Rec fan and that she was thrilled Ansari was at the event.

Then the president told Ansari, the Parks and Rec star: “I’ve got more Twitter followers than you, man.”

It’s true — Ansari’s about 1.6 million Twitter followers can’t compete with Obama’s following. The actor didn’t seem to have hard feeling about Obama’s joke. Instead, he tweeted the video and said, “President Obama gives me a shoutout, calls me out on lack of Twitter followers. Unreal.”

The president said he wanted to keep Ansari “humble and hungry.”

Ansari and other celebrities, like Russell Brand and Deepak Chopra, helped organize the New York fundraising event for Obama’s reelection campaign and the Democratic National Committee fund.

Obama’s not only beating out Ansari on Twitter. He’s also blowing the Republicans running against him out of the water. Newt Gingrich has more than 1.4 million and Mitt Romney has 362,551.
